Why I'm Running
Love of Oregon
I am running to fight for families, for our community, and because I love this area. It is where I grew up and where my wife and I are raising our four children. I want the next generation to have good schools, safe neighborhoods and parks, and a future filled with opportunities for success.
Oregon on the Wrong Track
Oregon is going backwards. Our cost of living is skyrocketing out of control. People can’t afford their grocery bills, their utilities, or their rent. Our neighborhoods aren’t safe, our schools are falling behind, and small businesses are getting crushed by harmful government policies. Too many people feel like no one is listening, and feel that they have no option left but to flee Oregon due to the failures of our current leaders.
Public Education
As a graduate of public schools, too many schools are no longer setting up our children with the knowledge and tools they need to be successful after graduation. We must stop playing politics and give parents and teachers the tools and freedom to truly help our children thrive.
Lower Costs
I will fight to bring down the cost of living. We must stop wasteful spending, lower taxes, and create a business-friendly environment that allows people to start, and grow small and medium sized businesses. These businesses are the ones that support our community, create ladders to prosperity, and create local good paying jobs. We must also allow cities like Gresham to build housing at a rate that meets demand so that housing costs stop artificially skyrocketing.
Support Law Enforcement
I will fully support law enforcement. Our leaders need to actively support our police and public servants who enable our community to thrive. Local and state policies have made criminals unaccountable for their actions, have left our streets more dangerous, and have put our families and businesses in harm's way.
New Leadership
We desperately need new leadership. We need leaders who understand what it takes to successfully run a business and raise a family. We need leaders who will actually listen to their constituents, work across the aisle, and pass common sense solutions. We need leaders who will work to build stronger communities.
Community First
We need leaders to put our community and people ahead of politics and treat homelessness and drug use like the public emergency it is. We need to focus on truly helping those in our community that are struggling by treating them with compassion and accountability. We are not the only region and state to deal with these issues, we are just doing it worse than others.
